The Project

The ACT4WOMEN project focuses on women living in rural, remote, isolated or marginalized areas who have restricted access to work and who engage in the production of handicrafts or other forms of “homemade” productions or services related to culture, community or environment they live in.

It aims to help women acquire entrepreneurial, digital, communication and leadership skills in order for them to learn how to promote, distribute, and sell the products through upgrading the “home-based business model” into start-ups or social enterprises.

The Target Group

Women living in rural, remote, isolated, poor or marginalised areas who are dealing with cultural/environmental/tourist related products or services, using their interests and talents, such as producing handicraft or other forms of ‘homemade’ products (e.g., sweets).

Adult Educators whose profiles will be upgraded and strengthened through the professional development course to be developed to acquire the essential skills in order to be able to support, guide and train the above groups of women using on-line and off-line opportunities.

The Timeline

Kick-Off Meeting
The kick-off meeting of the ACT4WOMEN project took place virtually on May 18, 2021. All the participating organizations took part in a fruitful discussion related to the project’s main objectives and the next steps of implementation. Other aspects of the project such as the Quality Assurance and the Dissemination Plan were also discussed and agreed upon. More emphasis was given on the analysis of the first Intellectual Output.

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUT 1 – THE CASE OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

Following the TPM1, the consortium set deadlines and started developing research methodology and tools for the first Intellectual Output.

Partners worked on the Mapping Tool through the collection of good practices and on the Entrepreneurial Self-Assessment Audit Tool. In addition, they have completed the infographics for each partner country and developed the entrepreneurial and digital framework which is the base for the course provided for FREE to rural women.

IO3 – CLOUD BASED INTERACTIVE PLATFORM: E-LEARNING, ONLINE SUPPORT CENTRE AND EU NETWORK
Even before the end of the first Intellectual Output, the ACT4WOMEN consortium started working on the third one, which is mainly the development of the ACT4WOMEN platform. During this Output, the platform of this project was designed, structured and developed in order to host for FREE mainly the course that was developed in IO1, the Mapping Tool with a collection of good practices, and a virtual online support centre.

IO2 – BECOMING A FEMALE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR: GAMIFICATION, LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT THROUGH AUGMENTED REALITY FEATURES
In this IO, partners worked on the development of an AR game which included tips and suggestions on how a social entrepreneurship comes alive, from an idea to a reality.

TPM2
The 2nd meeting of the Erasmus+ ACT4WOMEN project took place on April 19 and 20, 2022 and was hosted by NOTE et INNOVE, in Paris, France. and online for some of the partners. During the meeting, the consortium discussed the completed steps of the project, made major decisions for the following tasks, and commented on the updates in regards to the dissemination and quality of the project. Lastly, they decided on the date of the upcoming meeting and concluded on the efficiency of this meeting.

IO4 – MULTI-MEDIA TOOLKIT FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS: A GRASS ROOT UPSKILLING INITIATIVE FOR PROMOTING CULTURE AND CREATIVITY IN THE COVID-19 ERA
The last IO is about the production of a campaign that aims to make the ACT4WOMEN project known to more people and to promote their participation in the C1 training that will be organized in Cyprus.
September 2022 – April 2023
TPM3
Partners met in a hybrid meeting (in Riga, Latvia, and online) on the 4th of October 2022. During the meeting, the consortium discussed the completed steps of the project, including the competence framework and the educational pack. Moreover, they participated in a brainstorming activity aiming to define the steps that will be included in the AR Game to help women understand how to set up a social enterprise. Lastly, a draft version of the platform was presented.

C1 Training
The C1 training of the ACT4WOMEN project was held in Cyprus (24-28 of April 2023) and during five days, all participants (25 women) had the opportunity to develop their digital and entrepreneurial skills through interactive training, visits to women entrepreneurs and team working activities.

On the 28th of April, the final meeting was held hybrid (in Nicosia, Cyprus and online). During the meeting, the consortium discussed the completed steps of the project, decided on deadlines for the following and final tasks, and commented on all the updates in regard to the dissemination and quality of the project. Lastly, they presented the results collected by the C1 training, and they shared their satisfaction during the implementation of this project over these last 2 years.
